Romney wool is a longwool with lustrous, strong fibres and defined crimp. The wool has a slightly coarser handle but excellent durability and natural water-resistant properties. Takes dye exceptionally well while maintaining its characteristic sheen and creates yarn with good structure and drape.
Please note: Romney is a medium to coarser grade wool and may not suit those with very sensitive skin when worn next to skin. Ideal for outer layers, accessories, and home items.
Best used for: Outerwear, bags, rugs, hard-wearing blankets, weaving, items requiring strength and lustre
